The VG2230001H is a High G force Solenoid Actuator vibration motor designed for Gaming Controllers and VR Applications. The Sony PlayStation PS5 DualSense Controller uses a similar solenoid actuator vibration device made by Foster Electric. Engineers will find this tear down video , starting at he 22 min. mark, interesting. The device may be driven a few different ways. It may be driven with an audio signal using an audio amplifier that can source enough current. We recommend the PAM8403 IC or you can experiment by purchasing a "PA8403 Module" from many sources. Alternately, a PWM signal can be generated from a MCU unit, and the signal amplified by a Power Amplifier IC. And last, it may be driven directly with a Haptic Driver IC that can be programmed to generate a sine wave of various frequencies and amplitudes. Also available is this Development Kit originally designed for use with Foster Electric device, but may be used with this device.
